IPL

IPL(Indian Premiere League), has taken Cricket to some great new heights which even Lalit Modi, the commissioner of IPL would not have dreamt 5 years back. Thanks to his mastermind, if not which India would not have witnessed this great event.

IPL-1

Well, it was only the first IPL that was smooth.Everything was new to everyone. The concept was new, people were new, franchisees were new and ofcourse T20 was also very new.

People were really excited about the word auction....it truly created ripples. Fans were thinking how, what, why with the concept of auctioning. It was for the first time that cricket got involved with business and profits and loss were discussed in the cricketing field. Everyone franchise set their heels on a running note but they were not very sure of what was actually transpiring.

Indian big shots like Shahrukh Khan, Vijay Mallya, Preity Zinta, Ambanis and many others kept their money at stake and took the chances. They had their managers managing the players list and they were busy counting money. All the available players were auctioned and the franchisees though not meticulous chose their players and got a kick start to the game.

All was well and IPL-1 was a huge hit among the Indian fans and people literally galored to the stadiums and truly embraced the game.Everyone liked it and the franchisees too understood what was happening and calculated their respective profits.

IPL-2:

IPL-1 was a huge hit and then everyone's eyes were on the second version.Auction continued and players were sold and the teams were ready. But it was not the end of story, problems arose, terrorists attacked and elections arrived.

Lalit Modi was on the verge of solving problems and later approached the government for help. But the home minister keeping the elections issue in mind softly denied his suggestions. This forced Lalit Modi to Think of new options and later approached South Africa and offered them the privilege to host the second season.South Africans grabbed the opportunity. To the astonishment of all, IPL-2 was a very big hit among the South African fans.

IPL-3:

Now, its time for IPL-3. It has become a bit old now, people knew what IPL is, franchisees got to know ways of earning profits and business had a major role to play.

Auction took place which then created havoc in the media.

Among the 51 players who were auctioned only 11 of them were selected among which there was not a single Pakistan player, who are the world T20 champions. Many raised this topic as a part of government pressure and cheap politics. Lalit Modi was openly criticized by the Pakistan media for the ouster of Pakistan players.Franchisees were also pointed for not being bold enough. Rumors arose that the worsening bilateral relations between India and Pakistan was responsible for this happening.

Franchisees clearly denied all the rumors and softly answered that it was only the unavailability of these players which made them take this decision. We have to believe in their words and not accuse them because they know the practical problems over there and it was their stakes that were very high.

Lets all join our hands together and support IPL-3 to be a huge hit like its predecessors.
